Did any of you get a trick played on you today? If so we want to hear about it! Mark and I had a pretty low key day. Mark has been busy cutting and splitting wood for next year!

I have taken on some new changes with my flock. I rehomed some so that I could bring in young blood. Here are my teenagers that my friend and I hatched out. They are 10 weeks and hanging with the older hens in the big run.

Then I have the babies. They are 7 and 8 weeks old. They are doing awesome in the brooder coop. Three sapphire gems, Wendy, Mabel and Skeeter. One buff Orpington named Buffy. And two Welsummers named Nelly and Shelly. 🤦🏼♀️

This mama is a barnyard mix named Beatrice. She has 6 eggs under her that have mixes as well. But two of these eggs are frizzles! I am so excited. She hatches on April 6th!

This mama is a Cuckoo Maran. She has Oliver Egger, Cochin, Jubilee Orpington, Sanjak Longcrowers underneath her. Her name is Broody.

Of course this is what I collected today from the girls.

Nevertheless I am going to be a busy chicken mama now through the end of summer!
Today I did trim work in the château. It is getting closer! We will go get the bed next week. Tomorrow I will be busy mopping the floor from the drywall work.

Progress… ❤️
Mark has such cool tools and you have your hands full with the chicks. I would say life is good on the island. Yes, I am a little jealous. ♥️
